Dear Fellow Exonians,
If this were just another spring term at Exeter, we would participate in Climate Action Day workshops this Friday. We would listen to speakers, participate in environmental community service, and try to wrap our minds around the frightening realities of climate change. Despite the challenges of social distancing and the COVID-19 crisis, we still want to give Exonians the opportunity to take part in a virtual Climate Action Day and the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (this Wednesday).
We know that the coronavirus is impacting many members of our community, so we would like to remind everyone to please prioritize the health and well-being of yourselves and your loved ones right now. These opportunities are all optional and asynchronous. However, if you find yourself in need of something to do, or motivated to explore some climate change learning opportunities, this site is for you. We, the student members of the Climate Action Day Planning Committee, have compiled information, reflections, and opportunities for virtual action, all related to climate change.
We hope you take some time today to tune into a webinar, read an article, or watch a short video. We challenge you to share what you learned today, whether with your family at dinner or with a friend on the phone. The goal of this virtual Climate Action Day is to emphasize that even though we cannot be together on campus, we can unify through our collective understanding that we need to address climate change.
Sincerely,
The student members of the Climate Action Day Planning Committee
